El Chorro Climbing
El Chorro is a world class climbing destination with over 1500 routes and grades to suit all climbers. It is also one of the most economical destinations for European winter sun sport climbing action, as there are many lo-cost airline and charter flights available to Málaga. The climbing is varied, with easy slabs, steep walls, tufa climbing and the famous Camino Del Rey more commonly known as The Kings Walk.
Our guesthouse is in a prime location just 200 metres from the Las Encantadas crag and within easy walking distance of the main Frontales crags. With trains direct from Málaga to El Chorro, it's easy to climb here without the need to hire a car, though we would advise hiring one in the warmer months as it can get very hot if the sun is out on the predominantly south facing crags in El Chorro.
There are many other superb crags in the vicinity worth exploring too, including the terrific Makinodromo - SE facing (60 mins walk) and Desplomilandia - N facing (25 mins by car).
Car rental in Spain is cheap and a small car can be hired for as little as €65 /week.
We also work in conjunction with Silvia Fitzpatrick who isa local resident and full member of the British Association of Mountain Instructors and is able to offer rock climbing and mountaineering instruction in El Chorro.
